Who are Calvary Chapel?

Calvary Chapel Floripa is a worldwide ministry of Calvary Chapel. It's a non-denominational christian church that start in 1962 Costa Mesa, California with the pastor Chuck Smith. The Pastor Chuck Smith was the key for many young that movement called Jesus in the sixties. As he reached the young hippie culture, drug users and those who rebelled against traditions cold, many accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ. God gave the progress and thousands have their lives to Christ.

Today, Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa is listed among the twenty largest churches in the world over thirty-five thousand people believe that their local church. It is the number one in the list of the ten largest Protestant churches in California. This first church of Calvary Chapel, many men were raised to establish other churches, we call da Calvary Chapel. Essas por sua vez levantaram novos pastores e deployers of churches. As a result, today there are over a thousand Calvary Chapels in the United States and around the world.

Vision: The wish of our heart is liberate the people, especially the young, Florianópolis, the life of sin and death for abundant life in Jesus Christ, through the teaching of the Word of God full of truth and love.

Mision: Calvary Chapel Floripa exists to glorify God. We want to know and make known the importance of the infinite value of God and His Word.  We want to reach the lost with through evangelism, build up passionate and diligent followers of Christ, and equip them to the ministry.

Faith

The Bible: We believe that the Bible is the holy word ofGod, given to men inspired by him, and is the highest authority for Christian life.

One God: We believe that there is one God, composed of three persons: the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus: We believe in the divinity of Jesus as the son of God, who came to the world through the Virgin Mary. He lived a life without sin, died on the cross for our sins, and won the death by resurrection. Only through it can have eternal life.

We believe that human beings are sinners by nature and can not obtain the favor of God through good works.

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ complete on the cross. This salvation is available to anyone who believes this.

We believe in baptism by total immersion, as a symbol of death and resurrection with Christ.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit after salvation, whose housing in the Christian enables him to live a holy life. Furthermore, we believe that His power and gifts are available to believers today.

We believe that the purpose of the church is to glorify God, build the saints, and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in the world.

We believe that ministry is to serve and give up because of our love for God and the people, instead of receiving them.

We believe that the teaching of the Word of God, through the power of the Spirit, is what changes the life of the Christian. As someone said: "The Word without the Spirit, will dry; The Spirit without the Word, will explode; The Word and the Spirit, will grow."

We believe in a pre-tribulation rapture of the church and the pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ to earth.

We believe that Jesus will return to earth to search all Christians so that live eternally with Him: All who do not believe will be condemned for eternity.
